If you find it on sale, it is well worth the money. There are a few corks to the Delta. Rough edges throughout the gun... it seems the angular design is extensive, to include many sharper edges on areas that should be smooth and comfortable. I believe this was a mistake, putting esthetics over function. After sanding many parts of the gun, like the hard angles around the beaver tail and trigger guard, removing the un-needed texture on the bottom of the trigger guard (never understood why texture there is needed), the firearm is a lot more comfortable. Also, the small parts, like the take-down tabs have little sharp teeth that chew up my thumbs when firing with a modern grip, making the "gas pedals" ironic torture pads I avoid. And the trigger... the break is crisp, very crisp, and it has a distinct wall, which is my preference over light rolling breaks that wow novice shooters at the gun-counter. Also, there is no overtravel, which is excellent. Once the trigger breaks, the shoe stops all rearward travel unlike a GLCK, which travels quite a bit after the slide starts to travel, making reset longer than needed. My problem with the trigger is the shoe....again, it's sharp! Why is the trigger sharp? So annoying. I just purchased the $120 shoe from G.O. To hopefully remove another point of pain when firing this pistol, but after tax and shipping it costs $140 (that's with two week shipping time) which is almost half the sale price on this firearm when a good deal is found. A bit stupid if you ask me, but gun companies insist on marketing nonsense to sell guns to low information buyers who are tantalized by "features" that mostly reduce practicality. Overall, I like the gun and found it worth buying many magazines and a trigger worth half the sale price of a new gun. If you find it on sale, it may be worth it to you, especially if you don't mind grinding your own gun, and with the chassis being the serialized part, it saves this pistol, because you can buy polymer grips for cheap, if you blow it and destroy the gun. I've felt comfortable stippling this gun too, knowing I can spend $60 and get another grip. Excellent idea! I also love the size of this gun, it fits in my G19 holster with some wiggle (just tighten tension screw), which is a huge cost savings, and it's slimmer and lighter... it isn't quite P365 slim/light, but somewhere in the middle, which I love. It's snappier than my G19 but less than my P365. This part is Goldilocks! Also, the large blackstrap is crap, it doesn't fit to the frame well and has gaps where the beaver tail comes up to increase the length of pull, and in true Delta fashion, it's sharp on the edges!!!! The last negative is the strikers keep breaking, I'm on my fourth one, as the red indicator that protrudes out of the back-plate breaks off after about 500 rounds. I've been slow to replace it each time, as the gun functions fine without it, but you end up losing a great feature, which is knowing the trigger is being pressed if you place your thumb over the back-plate when re-holstering. That said, I'm in my fourth one, so if you do the math, if they last around 500, it shows you I like the gun enough to have over 2k through it. Maybe the Delta Gen 3 will be better? I'd definitely be interested in finding out.
I love the ergonomics, grip texture, light weight, shoot-ability of the Arex Delta M; I've reliably shoot a total of 40 rounds through it so far. On the other hand, I hate that the cocked striker indicator broke during dry firing. Furthermore, despite having no failures during live firing, it concerns me that sometimes the trigger fails to reset during dry firing.
