Ruger's AR-556 MPR rifle has a rifle-length gas system which provides smoother operation and reduces felt recoil. The matte black oxide chrome-plated bolt carrier inside diameter and chrome-plated gas key inside diameter provides exceptional resistance to hot gases. Its lower receiver is fitted with Magpul MOE grip and a Ruger Elite 452 two-stage AR-trigger which offers a smooth, crisp, 4.5 pound trigger pull. The flattop upper receiver is made from forged aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum, and includes a forward assist, dust cover and brass deflector. Its handguard is free-floating for accuracy and features Magpul M-LOK attachment slots along the 3, 6 and 9 positions. The threaded, cold hammer-forged, 4140 chrome-moly steel barrel with ultra-precise rifling provides exceptional accuracy, longevity and easy cleaning. The barrel also provides M4 feed ramps which improves operational reliability, while the matte black nitride finish provides corrosion resistance. The AR-556 MPR has a Magpul MOE SL collapsible buttstock on the Mil-Spec buffer tube and includes a 30-round Magpul PMAG.

Mine came in perfect shape. It looks good enough to be a museum piece. The muzzle break is too loud. That is probably only real complaint. The stock could be a more expensive Magpul but I'm not sure it would really be any better - just more expensive. Would be nice if it came with some Magpul sights - or any sights. I put on Magpul flip-up sights - the metal versions. My other two MPRs have optics. This one, I think I leave alone with just iron sights. You should shoot with iron sights once in awhile. Why buy this one over something similar? Cold hammer-forged barrel. Another good reason is full length gas system. It shoots a little softer so the girls can try this one with less recoil issues.
Great out of the box to the ranger. No issues as yet. Butt stock is just okay low end. Trigger pull crisp but will be first change. Is what expected on price range overall its a Ruger thumbs ups on this purchase.
I received my rifle at a great price. I admit I was sceptical but after doing a little research, I came to the conclusion that GZD was not a scam page. However. Upon receiving the item I believe there may be a reason it was sold at a lower price. This is my first rifle but I believe the picatinny rail on the hanguard should be flush with the rail on the upper. Mine needs to be set again. Its out of line. No big deal, I'll have to pick up a torque wrench and find the spec. I needed an excuse to pick one up any way. What is more concerning is the small nick in the handguard. It's a small gash so I'll have to keep an eye on it and pray it doesn't rust. I'm still happy with my purchase. I saved so much money off of the MSRP that the minor imperfections won't keep me up at night. I have to wonder though if these are factory 2nds and the deals are based on the faults.
